What X-Bond microcement is
01A 1/8″ stone-and-polymer surface that bonds straight onto tile, concrete, plywood or drywall. No demolition, no grout lines, no slab.
X-Bond is natural stone aggregate bound in a latex polymer. Mixed on site, troweled in thin coats and sealed, it becomes one continuous waterproof surface across floors, walls, ceilings, countertops, showers and pools, indoors or out.
Because it goes over what's already there, a bathroom that would need a week of demolition becomes a weekend of troweling.

The install, start to finish
Prep
Clean and degrease. Fix loose tile. Power Cleaner or Stone Soap. After cleaning, start with our Scratch Coat, which creates the initial bond for the microcement.
Membrane
Two coats of SEMCO Liquid Membrane, with fabric in the corners. Necessary for wood surfaces, wet areas and cracks over 1/4″ wide.
Base coats
Two troweled coats of X-Bond Stone + Liquid.
Finish coat
Color coat troweled to the texture you chose.
Seal
Two to three coats of your sealer system. Cure 24h.

02How much do I need?
Measure, add 10%, then calculate
Measure length × width for floors. For walls, multiply the perimeter × height. Add 10% for waste and for the test panel you should always do first.
Example: a 5′ × 8′ bathroom floor (40 sq ft) with 26′ of wall to 4′ high (104 sq ft) = 144 sq ft + 10% = enter 159 sq ft below.

03Two textures, chosen at the finish coat
NaturalNatural
Trowel movement stays visible: cloudy, tonal, closest to poured concrete. No Micro Bond needed.
SmoothSmooth
Micro Bond added to the finish coat for a tighter, more uniform surface. The calculator adds it for you.
Sealer systems
04The sealer determines how the finished surface looks and how hard it wears. All are water-based and low-VOC: two to three coats, light foot traffic at 24 hours, full cure at 7 days.
SEMCO Sealer Matte
Matte
Flattest, most concrete-like. Hides marks. The default for floors and walls.
Satin Stone
Satin
A low sheen with real depth. Food-safe once cured: the countertop choice.
Titan Shield Gloss
High gloss
Polyurethane hybrid. The hardest wearing; takes vehicle traffic. Garages, commercial floors and wet areas.
Natural Shield
Invisible
Penetrating sealer with no film and maximum breathability. For exteriors and submerged applications.
The color range
05Eight colors, each mixed into the finish coat. The palette is deliberately quiet: these are stone tones, not paint colors. Color is in the material, so a chip or a scratch shows the same tone underneath.

Screens distort color, and these tones are close enough to each other that it matters. Each sample is troweled and sealed exactly as the finished surface would be, so you can see it in your own light, against your own cabinetry.
Sample cost is credited against your first kit order. Custom color matching is available on request, at additional cost.

The latex polymer the stone mixes with. About 35 sq ft per gallon (Natural) or 32 (Smooth).

Micro Bond
Smooth finish only. About 200 sq ft per gallon.
SEMCO Liquid Membrane
When you answer Yes to waterproofing. About 235 sq ft per gallon.
Fabric Reinforcement
When you answer Yes to joints. 6″ × 75′ rolls for corners, coves and seams.

Questions
08Do I need the waterproofing membrane?
Answer Yes for wet areas (showers, tub surrounds, bathroom floors), over wood surfaces, and where there are cracks over 1/4″ wide. The calculator then adds SEMCO Liquid Membrane for your full project size.
Do my joints need fabric reinforcement?
Answer Yes for coves, inside corners, changes of plane (where wall meets floor), board seams and other high-stress spots. Enter the total length in feet and we'll add 6″ × 75′ rolls.
How is my kit calculated?
Each product has a set coverage per pack (for example, about 70 sq ft per bag of X-Bond Stone). We divide your project size by that coverage and pick the best mix of 1 gallon and 5 gallon packs, the same way our team quotes projects.
Why might I end up with a little extra?
Products come in whole packs, so we round up. A small surplus also covers touch-ups and your test panel.
Can I change quantities after calculating?
Yes. Everything goes into your normal cart, where you can adjust or remove any item before checkout.
How long before I can use the surface?
Seal with two to three coats. Light foot traffic at 24 hours, full cure at 7 days.
Can I really install it myself?
Yes. The kits are made for DIY renovation, and installation videos plus the full guide come with every order. Start with a test panel or the Starter Kit to get a feel for troweling. Prefer a pro? Find a trained installer near you.
